On October 9, the British rating agency “Times Higher Education” (THE) released the results of one of the most influential global university rankings. Seventeen Ukrainian Universities were included in this year’s list, according to the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (MES).
Details
In total, 2,095 institutions from 115 countries were evaluated. Ukrainian universities from cities including Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Sumy, Uzhhorod, Kharkiv, and Chernivtsi were among those ranked.
Analysts assessed the universities based on 18 performance indicators, covering:
- Educational activities
- Research environment
- Quality of research
- Industry collaboration
- International openness
Topping the global ranking is the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
Among Ukrainian institutions, Sumy State University achieved the highest position, ranking in the 801–1,000 group globally. Other Ukrainian universities from Dnipro, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, Uzhhorod, Kharkiv, and Chernivtsi were placed in the 1,501+ group.
For the first time, Bohomolets National Medical University, I. I. Mechnikov Odesa National University, and Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University were included in the rankings.
