Last year, both public and private notaries in Ukraine certified 172,628 purchase and sale agreements for apartments and residential houses. Ukraine’s real estate transactions increased by 71% compared to 2022 when the number stood at 100,710, according to Forbes. The number of mortgage agreements doubled in 2023.
In 2023, Ukrainians entered into 172,628 purchase and sale agreements for apartments and residential houses, a substantial increase from the 100,710 in 2022, representing a year-over-year growth of approximately 71%. Furthermore, notaries in Ukraine certified 231,881 land plot purchase agreements in 2023, nearly 74% more than in 2022 when 133,447 plots were sold.
For the year 2023, Ukrainians concluded 15,918 mortgage agreements, including 10,775 for apartments and residential houses and 1,127 for land plots. In 2022, 8,933 mortgage agreements were registered, consisting of 5,410 for apartments and residential houses and 834 for land plots. The overall increase in the number of mortgage agreements compared to the previous year was 78%, with the number of mortgage agreements for apartments and houses doubling, and for land plots increasing by 35%.
In 2021, public and private notaries certified 320,165 purchase and sale agreements for apartments and residential houses in Ukraine, while the number of sold land plots in pre-war 2021 reached 301,518.
