This week, the Latvian airline airBaltic celebrates the 20th anniversary of its Riga – Minsk service. Since 1996, airBaltic has carried almost 210 thousand passengers on the route and today it offers convenient connections between the cities and beyond to destinations in the Baltic region and Scandinavia.
Wolfgang Reuss, SVP of Network Management of airBaltic: “We started out in Minsk with mere one thousand passengers served in 1996, but now we have almost twelve thousand passengers annually on our Riga – Minsk service, offering convenient onward connections to 60 destinations in Europe and the Middle East.”
airBaltic launched its Riga – Minsk service on May 14, 1996 utilising a Saab 340 aircraft. airBaltic started in Belarus with just 1 368 passengers annually, and has now grown to 12 646 passengers served in 2015 who boarded airBaltic aircraft that linked Belarus with Riga and major European hubs. For the celebration, airBaltic offers limited anniversary sales of Riga-Minsk-Riga flights for a 20% discounted fare.
