April 18th, International airport Odesa and Italian low-cost company Ernest Airlines held a joint press conference, dedicated to the beginning of their cooperation and launch of the first flight Rome-Odesa-Rome.
Among special guests were Chady El Tannir, President of Ernest Airlines; Davide Strinna, Country Manager of the company in Ukraine; Pavlo Prusak, Head of “Odesa” International Airport; Vyacheslav Cheglatonev, Chief Marketing and Commercial Officer of “Odesa” International Airport; Tetyana Markova, Head of the department of culture and tourism of Odesa City Council.
“Odesa is one of the main tourist and business centres of Ukraine. Italy in its turn is one of the most popular destinations for Ukrainians, especially since the visa-free regime with EU countries. Direct connection of Odesa and Rome will open new business and tourist perspectives for both sides, and will also boost international relationship”, — marked Chady El Tannir.
“We are happy to open today long-awaited flight to Italy for Odesa and Southern Region citizens. Our cooperation only begins, and we are planning to gladden our passengers increasing quantity of flights and discovering new Italian cities”, — marked Head of “Odesa” International Airport Pavlo Prusak.
As the close, the event participants solemnly cut the cake. This sweet aviation tradition is common for every new route opening.
Odesa-Rome flight will be carried out the year round twice a week: on Thursdays and Sundays. The company will utilize Airbus A320 aircrafts together with long-standing partner, service provider Buy on Board.
