One of the biggest industry events in the Baltics — the annual International Travel Trade Fair “Balttour 2017” will take place on 3–5 February in Ķīpsala, Riga, traditionally starting the celebration of awaiting for the spring/summer tourist season.
The first tradeshow “Balttour 2017” took place 24 years ago. Over time, this event has grown in terms of both size and quality. Already at the end of 2016, tourism companies from over 40 countries all over the world had applied for participation in “Balttour 2017”.
In the hall “Discover the World!”, Germany, Israel, Croatia, Hungary, Russia, Georgia, Vietnam and many other countries will invite visitors to discover different tourist destinations across the world. After a long break, Armenia, Egypt and United Arab Emirates will participate in the travel tradeshow once again. Quite a lot of tourism companies will represent our neighbouring countries — Lithuania and Estonia.
In the hall “Travel Latvia”, in turn, visitors will have an opportunity to become acquainted with local tourism offers. All cultural and historical regions will be represented at the trade fair, praising their offers one brighter and more tempting than the other.
Latvian tourism is rather rich to satisfy the wishes and interests of both local travellers and foreign guests. The range of options is vast for both those who choose to travel by car and those who prefer to travel on foot, by bicycle or even by boat. Hotels, guesthouses and SPA centres have prepared excellent discounts for the visitors.
As usually, different craftsmen will demonstrate their skills and food producers will treat with home-made delicacies at “Balttour 2017”. Jolly music will fill in the halls and dancers from all over the place will deliver their performances.
Just as in several previous years, the Balttour Forum will make the International Travel Trade Fair in Ķīpsala Exhibition Hall even more valuable for tourism professionals. This year, it will take place two days before the tradeshow, on February 1, in the “Citadele” conference hall.
The travel tradeshow “Balttour 2017” is organised by the Association of Latvian Travel Agents and Operators (ALTA) and its progress is ensured by the international exhibition company BT 1.
In 2016, 850 tourism companies from 41 countries across the world participated in the travel tradeshow “Balttour”. The number of visitors reached 26 thousand, 5.3 thousand of which were professionals of the industry and invited guests.
