Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport has been reduced from a modern transportation hub in 2014 to piles of scorched rubble. Now Donetsk Airport is the place of warfare.
Regional airport of Donetsk region will be moved to Mariupol, where the restoration of the existing airport can take up to six months and requires $60 mln, said Pavel Zhebrivskiy, the head of Donetsk regional administration.
Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport was constructed for the Euro 2012 Championship hosted by Ukraine. The reconstruction cost – $875 mln.
