Eurocontrol Agree to Fund Ukraine Air Navigation System for 2 More years

Ukraine Air Navigation System and Eurocontrol Agree to Extend the European Voluntary Air Navigation Solidarity Fund for 2025 and 2026.

Ukraine and Eurocontrol have reached an agreement to extend the operation of the European Voluntary Air Navigation Solidarity Fund for the years 2025 and 2026. This decision was formalized with a joint statement signed by Ukraine’s Vice Prime Minister for the Development of Communities and Territories, Oleksiy Kuleba, and Eurocontrol’s Director General, Raúl Medina Caballero.

The extension was made possible by the 62nd session decision of Eurocontrol’s Temporary Council and Permanent Committee, which was supported by all member countries. The fund remains a crucial financial resource for Ukraine’s air navigation service provider, Ukraerorukh, especially during the ongoing military state and the full closure of airspace to civilian flights.

Since its establishment in late 2022, the Eurocontrol Solidarity Fund has been vital in supporting Ukraine’s air navigation system, providing over 70 million euros in funding through 2023 and 2024. With the continued closure of Ukraine’s airspace due to the Russian invasion, the fund has played a key role in sustaining air traffic management services for the country.
