According to the artist, the main goal and idea of the comic is to give people outside of Ukraine an understanding of the devastating impact of the shelling and escalation of the conflict on the daily lives of the country’s civilian population.
In his work, Fabien Toulmé tells the stories of four people from different parts of Ukraine who have been affected by the war. All of the characters shared their stories with the Dorizhka consortium, which provided them with humanitarian assistance.
The work was first presented in French on February 24, 2024, the second anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Following its success in well-known French publications such as Le Monde, Libération, Courrier International and Society, it has been released in English and Ukrainian.
