The Ministry of Restoration of Ukraine, Chernihiv Regional State Administration, and the French Agency for International Technical Cooperation Expertise France have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the reconstruction of the Chernihiv region.
The Ministry of Community Development, Territories, and Infrastructure of Ukraine announced this collaboration on social media.
The joint work is currently underway on specific projects, with a total budget exceeding 5 million euros, including:
- Conservation work on the roof of the regional academic theater in Chernihiv.
- Support for Ukrainian startups and innovations at the local level, particularly in the Chernihiv region.
- Priority assistance in healthcare, including the restoration of anti-radiation shelters in central hospitals in the Chernihiv region.
- Support for local self-government in reconstruction and decentralization, including the development and implementation of educational modules in the areas of innovation, mobility, agriculture, culture, and heritage.
To implement the Memorandum, a Steering Committee will be formed, consisting of representatives from the Ministry of Restoration, Chernihiv Regional State Administration, and the mAIDan Ukraine program (Expertise France). Additionally, representatives from the French Embassy in Ukraine will be involved in the committee’s work.
