For the first time since the onset of the full-scale war, the retailer H&M will reopen its stores in Ukraine on November 9th, as reported by Forbes Ukraine. The initial store reopenings will take place in the capital’s shopping malls, Lavina Mall and Respublika Park.
“Yes, we can confirm that tomorrow we are reopening H&M stores in Lavina Mall and Respublika Park,” commented H&M. Detailed information regarding further reopening plans in Ukraine will be provided on November 9th.
According to the management of the Mandarin Plaza company, which oversees the Lavina Mall shopping center in the capital, the nearly 3,000 square meter store will offer a complete range of H&M products, including clothing, accessories, and H&M Home home goods. Additionally, the new collection will include items that were in stores at the time of closure.
It’s worth noting that in 2022, H&M had plans to launch an online store in Ukraine. In September, the company informed Forbes that its stores in Ukraine would remain closed until further notice, while continuing to pay salaries to its Ukrainian employees.
In October, it became known that H&M stores would return to operation in Ukraine at the end of November to early December, according to information from three sources—shopping center directors and a commercial real estate consultant. According to their data, the network is prepared to open six stores located in Kyiv’s shopping malls Retroville, Lavina Mall, Respublika Park, Dream Town, River Mall, and Lviv’s Victoria Gardens.
Before the full-scale invasion, the chain also managed a store in Odesa’s Riviera shopping center and one in Kharkiv’s Nikolsky shopping center.
