The European Investment Bank (EIB) will allocate 500 million for the modernization of the Kyiv metro. These funds will be used to modernize the transport infrastructure of the capital of Ukraine, in particular, the old Soviet subway cars will be replaced with modern ones.
The EIB and the city of Kyiv signed the corresponding memorandum during the 2022 Kyiv Investment Forum in Brussels.
The project, with an estimated cost of almost 500 million euros, aims to help Kyiv move away from dependence on Russian metro rolling stock and related spare parts.
