Kyiv Will Not Open Beach Season This Year

Residents and visitors of Kyiv are advised against visiting beaches and recreational areas due to safety concerns.

This decision was made at the Permanent Commission on Technogenic and Environmental Safety and Emergencies of the Kyiv City State Administration.

Citizens are discouraged from visiting beaches and recreational areas to avoid large gatherings of people, which would hinder their unimpeded access to shelters during air alerts.

At the same time, specialists will continue to perform seasonal maintenance necessary to maintain order and sanitation on beach territories and recreational areas. They will service engineering networks, clean up, and carry out sanitary treatment of the areas.

Following the imposition of martial law in all regions of Ukraine for security reasons, restrictions imposed by local authorities are in effect. For example, visiting forests and navigation of certain watercraft on water bodies are prohibited, and access to specific tourist routes and attractions is restricted or prohibited.

By the way, in Odesa, preparations are underway for the summer season, with plans to open several beaches this year. Odesa aims to ensure the operation of several beaches throughout the summer season like in 2023.

During a joint meeting of local authorities with representatives of Odesa businesses – retail chains, dining establishments, hoteliers, and others – it was decided to extend the sale of alcoholic beverages by one hour, until 11:00 PM.
