Lviv made it onto Lonely Planet’s top 10 list of places to visit in Europe this summer, released on Tuesday. Lonely Planet praises Lviv for quaint cobbled streets, a host of cosy coffeehouses and rattling trams.
The Unesco World Heritage site may only be the seventh largest city in the country, but it is known as a hub of art, literature, music and theatre.
Following the Euro 2012 football championships, the world caught wind of Lviv’s delights, and tourism is only predicted to rise, thanks to its 100 annual festivals and 60 museums.
