Plans to begin the reconstruction of Lviv railway station were announced by a company during a meeting with local authorities, attended by Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi, Lviv Regional Military Administration Chief Maxim Kozytskyi, and Yuriy Kyselya, Chairman of the Transport and Infrastructure Committee of the Verkhovna Rada, along with representatives from civic organizations and major rehabilitation hubs in Ukraine.
The project aims to provide barrier-free access to trains, with proposed enhancements including raised platforms for easier access to carriages, installation of lifts, restoration of stairs and tunnels to meet accessibility standards, and more.
Veterans from Unbroken and Superhumans centers, alongside representatives from civic organizations, had the opportunity to voice their suggestions regarding the accessibility of spaces. During the meeting, participants also discussed the development of inclusivity at Lviv’s railway station and the railway transport system in the Lviv region.
