The main Christmas tree of the country was traditionally illuminated on Sofia Square, as announced by the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko. Similar to last year, the tree is artificial and stands at a height of 12 meters. It was installed and adorned with decorations using funds from sponsors.
The theme of the location is “Brave Hearts,” dedicated to the defenders of Ukraine. The New Year tree is adorned with ornaments shaped like blue and yellow hearts. At the top, the Coat of Arms of Ukraine is displayed. Next to the tree, there is a photo zone in the shape of a heart, also dedicated to the country’s defenders. Additionally, there are small Christmas trees adorned with yellow and blue hearts.
Each visitor has the opportunity to take one ornament home as a keepsake by making a donation. Donations can be made through QR codes provided by charitable and volunteer organizations that have joined the initiative.
