Mattel, the company behind iconic toys, has announced the opening of a Barbie-themed amusement park.
The new entertainment park, styled in “Barbicorn” fashion (with pink color everywhere), will be launched in Glendale, Arizona. Park visitors will have the opportunity to try on the perfect outfit with the help of an ultra-modern Barbie hologram, and the “Flying Theater” technology will take guests on a journey to all the places Barbie has ever been, from space to the underwater world. To conclude their day at the park, visitors can enjoy a signature pink cocktail at Barbie’s Beach House bar, which offers a panoramic view of the entire park.
Additionally, the park will feature attractions and interactive entertainment dedicated to other Mattel toys. Thrill-seekers can experience the Hot Wheels double loop roller coasters, while younger children can join Thomas the Tank Engine on a treasure hunt adventure. Giant play structures and a mini-golf course will be designed in the style of Pictionary and UNO, and a massive laser tag arena will replicate Castle Grayskull from He-Man and the Masters of the Universe.
The Mattel Adventure Park will be part of the VAI Resort, located near the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It will be the largest resort in Arizona, featuring over 1100 hotel rooms and suites, 12 high-class restaurants, a modern concert venue, a swimming pool, and the country’s largest artificial island.
While the opening date for the resort itself has not been announced yet, the amusement park is planned to open in 2024. All enthusiasts can follow the construction progress of the Barbie park in real-time.
