During 2024, McDonald’s plans to open in Uzhhorod and Chernivtsi. Overall, the company intends to open at least six restaurants in Ukraine.
This was announced by the CEO of McDonald’s in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Ukraine, Yulia Badritdinova, at a press conference.
McDonald’s closed all of its establishments in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, following the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The company explained that this was for safety reasons.
Eventually, McDonald’s resumed operations at more than 60% of its restaurants in the central and western regions of the country starting in September 2022. In 2023, the company began opening its restaurants near major highways in Ukraine.
As of March 2024, the McDonald’s network in Ukraine includes over 100 restaurants in 24 cities.
