Two metro stations in Kyiv, namely “Druzhby Narodiv” and “Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho,” have been renamed. Additionally, the future metro station on the Vynohradar branch, “Ploshcha Pravdy,” has been renamed to “Varsavska.”
This decision was made by the deputies of the Kyiv City Council during a session on Thursday. The metro station “Druzhby Narodiv” was renamed to “Zvirynetska” in honor of the historical name of the area, known since the times of Kyivan Rus.
The station “Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho” was renamed to “Ploshcha Ukrayins’kykh Heroyiv” (Square of Ukrainian Heroes).
The project station “Ploshcha Pravdy” was renamed to “Varsavska” as a tribute to Warsaw, the sister city of Kyiv. Additionally, the future station is located near the residential area of Varsavska.
