In the Lviv region, near the villages of Volosyanka and Verkhnyaya Rozhanka, part of the Slavske community, construction has begun on a unique international-standard ski resort — GORO Mountain Resort. The resort will be located at the foot of the Vysokyy Verkh mountain range, at an altitude of 650 meters above sea level. The project is planned for completion over the next 15 years and is set to become one of the largest in Eastern Europe.
The resort will feature 41 ski slopes with a total length of 75 km, covering 342 hectares equipped for artificial snowmaking. To accommodate visitors, 17.5 km of lifts will be installed, including two modern gondola lifts and 11 chairlifts. One of these gondola lifts will be the longest in Ukraine, measuring 2.8 km, and the resort will also boast the longest ski slope in the country at 3.8 km.
Spanning almost 1,200 hectares, the GORO Mountain Resort will combine ski infrastructure with hotel and recreational facilities. Approximately 360 hectares will be allocated for the mountain and ski infrastructure, while over 800 hectares will be designated for hotels, commercial, and recreational developments. Throughout the project, 25 hotels with a total of 5,500 rooms will be constructed.
The first phase of construction, covering 127 hectares, has already begun near the village of Volosyanka. This phase will include the construction of a Welcome Centre, the base station for the gondola lift, as well as 10 ski slopes with a total length of 13 km and two chairlifts. Additionally, the first phase will see the development of five hotel complexes on 20 hectares, offering over 1,100 rooms along with spa areas, swimming pools, restaurants, and children’s and business zones. The completion of this first phase is expected between 2028 and 2029.
The total investment in the GORO Mountain Resort is estimated at $1.5 billion, with OKKO Group planning to contribute $500 million from its own and loaned funds, while an additional $1 billion is expected to be raised from other investors.
GORO Mountain Resort aims to become a major center for tourism in Ukraine, offering year-round activities for visitors to enjoy amidst stunning mountain scenery.
