From March 2023, Nova Poshta will launch Supernova Airlines for the transportation of shipments to the EU. Parcels will be delivered by two AN-26 aircraft from 1978 and 1982, which the company leased from Expedition Aviation in the UAE.
Supernova Airlines, a part of the Nova Poshta group of companies, secured the Air Operator’s certificate (AOC) number UA 062 on the 6th of January, 2023. The AOC allows the company to start its commercial operations.
AN-26 will transport cargo only within Europe and will be based in Poland until the end of the war. Probably, their logistics center will be in Rzeszów.
The delivery of parcels from Europe to Ukraine will take place by road transport until the end of the war. After the end of the war, Supernova Airlines will deliver cargo to Boryspil and Lviv airports.
Currently, Nova Poshta is negotiating the lease of two more planes that will be able to perform long-haul flights – from the USA and China.
In 2023, the company plans to reach the pre-war level of international parcels due to the development of new directions. In the first half of 2023, the company also will open branches in Lithuania, Germany, the Czech Republic and Romania.
SkyUp Airlines is focused on obtaining a license in one of the EU countries, which will allow air transportation both within the EU itself and to other countries.
