Pushkinska Metro Station in Kharkiv to set to be renamed to Politekhnichna, as announced by Elena Rozova, the head of the press service of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute. In January, a relief of Russian writer Pushkin was dismantled at the Kharkiv Pushkinska metro station as part of planned repair works. The removal included the platform, vestibule, and partial removal of panels with bas-reliefs between turnstiles.
The city administration of Kharkiv has already renamed 65 toponyms, including renaming Pushkinska Street to Hryhoriy Skovoroda Street. The decision to rename the street was made after the city center, particularly Pushkinska Street, was heavily shelled on January 23. All the renamed toponyms were associated with Russia and its allies.
