In 2016 Boryspil Airport reached its maximum in the history of the company’s existence. The number of the passengers handled increased by 1.37 million per year and amounted to 8.65 million. The greatest growth was achieved by attracting foreign market transfer passengers. For the past year the number of those passengers increased by 0.76 million and amounted to 2.31 million passengers.
“Ukraine is becoming a transit state. The results achieved by Boryspil Airport confirm that this is not just a declaration. Millions of transit passengers mean income of the state-owned enterprise and replenishment of the budget. Compared to the pre-reform 2014 year, payments to the budget increased by seven times and amounted to 1.55 billion hryvnia in 2016”, said Yevhenii Dykhne, the Director of Boryspil Airport.
