It happened during the unsuccessful three-week assault on Vugledar. The russians lost more than 130 tanks and armored personnel carriers, the fields are literally littered with corpses and skeletons of burnt equipment.
Terrorist Igor Girkin (Strelkov) in his social networks admitted the fiasco of the Russian army near Vugledar, noting that the Armed Forces of Ukraine shot the occupiers, “like in a shooting range.”
The attack on the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region in August 2022 was launched by 155 and 40 separate marine brigades assigned to the Pacific Fleet, as well as former units of Donetsk militants with the support of Russian special forces. Subsequently, soldiers of the 136th Motorized Rifle Brigade and reserve battalions of the 36th and 37th Motorized Rifle Brigade, and even mercenaries from the PMC “Patriot” joined them. The city with a pre-war population of about 14 thousand people became a place of heavy fighting, but for half a year it is successfully defended by units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
According to some estimates, the losses of the Russians in the event of the failure of the attack on Ugledar could reach 2 thousand people killed.
