Russian Forces Destroy Zaporizhzhia Airport

Russian forces destroyed Zaporizhzhia Airport on May 26 at 16:00, according to Ukrainian Member of Parliament Musa Magomedov.

The Office of the Prosecutor General has launched an investigation into the impact of a Russian missile on the Zaporizhzhia airport terminal. A criminal case has been opened over violation of the laws and customs of war.

Zaporizhzhia International Airport had ceased operations at the start of the full-scale war.

Zaporizhzhia International Airport is the international airport that serves Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine, one of three airfields around the city. The aircraft engine factory Motor Sich has its base here. In May 2020, the airport was extended with a new terminal with a capacity of 400 passengers. The airport is also home to the Zaporizhzhia State Aircraft Repair Plant.
