Yesterday, on March 27, Odesa International Airport and Ryanair airline held a joint press conference dedicated to the start of cooperation in 2019 summer navigation season.
Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism of Odesa City Council, Tetyana Markova, Deputy Head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Svitlana Shatalova, Director of Marketing and Sales in Central, Eastern Europe and the Balkans of Ryanair, Olga Pawlonka and Director of marketing and commerce LLC “International airport “Odesa” Vyacheslav Cheglatonyev attended the event.
The airline flight program starts with the opening of four new destinations: Krakow, Katowice, Wroclaw and Berlin. Flights to Krakow on a year-round basis will start in June and will be performed three times a week. Flights to Katowice, Wroclaw and Berlin will start in October and will be operated twice a week.
Vyacheslav Cheglatonyev, director of marketing and commerce of Odessa International Airport LLC, said: “We are glad to open a new page in the history of Southern region aviation along with one of the biggest lowcoste carrier in the world. Launching of four new directions is just the beginning of our cooperation with Ryanair, but we are already actively working on the possibility of opening new flights to Germany, Spain, Greece and other European countries. One of our main priorities in the nearest future is to make travel for residents of the Southern region even more accessible.”
In Odesa Ryanair’s Olga Pawlonka said: “Ryanair is pleased to announce further expansion into the Ukrainian market with the addition of Odesa as our fourth airport (incl. recently announced Kharkiv) since low fares first officially arrived in Ukraine last year. Our growth will deliver 1.4m customers p.a. at our Ukrainian airports, which will help support over 1,050 ancillary jobs in the in the regions. Our three new Odesa routes to Katowice, Krakow, Berlin and Wroclaw are now on sale at Ryanair.com website.

In 2018 Odesa International Airport handled over 1.446 million passengers in cooperation with 23 airlines. It is 18% increase in comparison with 2017. Regular flights were made to 24 destinations. In 2018, the airport set its own record, welcoming the millionth passenger in September.
