Ukrainian airline SkyUp has evacuated all 36 of its employees from Sudan, where armed clashes are currently taking place. The company’s press service reported that its employees were taken to Egypt with the assistance of Ukrainian diplomats.
The personnel had been in Sudan since April 15, when the unrest began in the country. At the same time, the company does not confirm information about the destruction of one of its aircraft at the airport in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
“While the hostilities continue, we cannot conduct an inspection. As soon as we have the opportunity to inspect the aircraft, we will definitely report it,” the statement said.
SkyUp also reports the suspension of its flight program for the Sudanese airline Sun Air. The company assures that it continues to work in normal mode, preserving its team and fulfilling its obligations under ACMI contracts and orders from tour operators, as well as conducting special flights.
