Ukrainian airline SkyUp was able to evacuate its last plane from Boryspil airport.
As Avianews reports, the evacuation took place in the evening of April 4. The aircraft was recorded by Flightradar24 online radar.
Boeing 737-800 SkyUp pilots turned on the plane’s transmitter in the sky near Chernivtsi. Thanks to this, the plane’s transmitter informed that it was heading from Boryspil airport to the Romanian city of Iasi.
SkyUp managed to evacuate almost all aircraft from Ukraine at the beginning of the war. There was only one plane left at Boryspil airport – a Boeing 737-800 with registration UR-SQP.
On February 24, 2022, the pilots took this plane into the sky and headed for Chisinau. However, the controllers ordered the pilots to return to the airport of departure as the sky over Ukraine was closed to civilian aircraft.
