The Metropolitan Museum in New York changed the name of the painting by the impressionist artist Edgar Degas from “Russian Dancers” to “Dancers in Ukrainian Dress”.
It took almost a year for the Metropolitan Museum to change its name.
In March 2022, the National Gallery in London renamed Degas’ painting “Russian Dancers” to “Ukrainian Dancers”. The gallery became the first institution to change the name of a Degas painting
