In May 2019, the indices of passenger flow of Kharkiv Airport comprised 114K people. This figure is by 28% higher than the one of May last year, when 88.9K passengers used the services of the airport.
The largest increase accrued to international destinations, the passenger flow of which grew by 34% and amounted to 95.1K people. The reason for this is, among other things, the geographical expansion of flight directions performed from Kharkiv Airport. In May, direct regular flights to Baku (offered by Buta Airways) and to Larnaca (offered by SkyUp Airlines) were opened. Besides, seasonal flights to Bodrum (Turkey), Dalaman (Turkey) and Monastir (Tunisia) were launched. Yet, the most popular destinations were Antalya, Kyiv, Istanbul, Sharm-El-Sheikh, Vienne, Warsaw, Tel-Aviv, Wroclaw, Gdansk and Dortmund.
In aggregate, the airlines performed 480 departures from Kharkiv Airport during the month, which represented a 21% increase over the same period last year, when the number of departures equaled 397.
