September 2018 Ukraine International Airlines increased traffic by nearly 15% over the corresponding period of 2017, carrying more than 6 million passengers. The share of transfer passengers on UIA’s scheduled flights was 54%.
During the nine months, UIA operated 46 708 thousand flights which is 7.5% more than in 2017. At the same time, the load factor also increased by 0.6% up to 81.5%. UIA mail and cargo traffic reached 17 646 tons and increased by 17.4% compared to the same period of last year.
Within the period, UIA expanded its network and added four new international destinations: from Kiev to Cairo, Copenhagen, Toronto, and Delhi.
Since the beginning of 2018, UIA continued with its fleet renewal and extension program taking delivery of another seven aircraft: three long-haul Boeing 777-200ER and four modern Boeing 737-800 planes, three of which arrived directly from the manufacturer’s facilities in Seattle.
