Wednesday, January 18, 2017, Ukraine International Airlines enhanced its fleet with modern Boeing 737-800 NG aircraft. Therefore, the leading Ukraine`s carrier continues implementing the large-scale fleet renewal and expansion program.
Manufactured in 2009, the Boeing 737-800 NG passed an official registration procedure in Ukraine and received the UR-PSV registration number.
The aircraft accommodates 186 passengers in two class seating configuration. The UR-PSV aircraft will be operated across the UIA medium-haul route network. Friday, January 20, the newly received aircraft is scheduled to operate its first commercial flight to one of the cities of Ukraine.
“As part of our long-term fleet expansion program, we expect to have enhanced our fleet to over 90 aircraft by 2021, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – In 2017, we plan to receive minimum 6 modern Boeing 737 NG aircraft and decommission 2 Boeing 737 Classic aircraft”.
The next aircraft, a brand-new Boeing 737 NG manufactured at Boeing facilities in Seattle, is expected to arrive in March 2017.
Effective January 18, 2017, Ukraine International operates 40 aircraft including 22 Boeing 737 NG aircraft with the average age of 9.4 years. Currently, UIA fleet`s average age amounts to 12.5 years.
