Exciting developments are on the horizon at the border between Ukraine and Hungary! Prepare for a new cross-border point and a plan to construct a brand-new bridge across the Tysa River.
Hungary’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, shared this news during a press conference, emphasizing how these initiatives will ease the operations at existing border checkpoints.
Ukraine and Hungary have joined forces to expand the road and rail crossings in Berehove and Zahony, in addition to constructing the Tysa River bridge. Although the exact location of the new border crossing point remains a mystery, the commitment to progress is undeniable.
During his visit to Uzhhorod, Minister Szijjarto expressed gratitude to his Ukrainian counterparts for ensuring a reliable transit route for the supply of crude oil. He also urged the establishment of favorable conditions for Hungarian companies operating in the Ukrainian market, emphasizing the importance of cooperation.
As the eight existing cross-border points continue their vital functions – five for cars and buses, and three for railway transport – these new initiatives herald a future of enhanced connectivity and collaboration.
