Citizens of Ukraine and Turkey will be able to travel without passports soon, using local id cards instead, said Pavlo Klimkin, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine after a meeting with Mevlut Cavusoglu Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey.
The corresponding agreement will be signed in the near future.
“I want to announce with Mevlut one thing. We have a visa-free regime, but in the future, the citizens of Ukraine and citizens of Turkey will be able to visit our countries using local id cards. We agreed to this and we have the technical details left and we hope that this agreement will be signed in the near future. This suggests that in the future we should feel like at home in Turkey and Turkish citizens in Ukraine without international documents. I am glad that we have reached an agreement and will work hard to implement it, “- said Pavlo Klimkin.
