Starting March 27, 2016, UIA introduces the “hand luggage only” additional ticket fares on non-stop international flights connecting Kiev with Riga, as well as Kiev and Odessa with Baku. Additionally, the “hand luggage only” fares will be available on direct Odessa – Vilnius – Odessa flights operated within the Summer 2016 Schedule. Therefore, passengers of the above mentioned flights can take advantage of three baggage options: hand luggage only (economy class), standard baggage allowance – 1 piece of up to 23 kg (economy class) – or increased baggage allowance – 2 pieces of up to 23 kg each (business class).
In case a passenger, who purchased the “hand luggage only” option, decides to carry baggage, he/she will have to pay 15 USD for one-way carriage in case the option is pre-paid no later than 24 hours prior to scheduled departure.
“To survey the demand for such-like product, in early February UIA introduced the minimum “hand luggage only” rates on several international routes, – noted Evgeniya Satska, UIA Corporate Press Secretary. – The experiment turned out to be a success as our passengers have been actively taking advantage of the new offer choosing one of three options available. To date, over three and eleven thousand passengers traveling to Vilnius and Tel Aviv respectively have purchased the “hand luggage only” ticket option. This statistics gives us ground to keep introducing the new rates across our route network. Later on the “hand luggage only” option will be available on a number of European services”.
February 1, 2016, UIA introduced the “hand luggage only” minimum economy class fares on non-stop international services connecting Kiev with Vilnius, as well as Kiev, Kharkov, Lvov, Dnepropetrovsk, and Odessa with Tel Aviv.
“Hand luggage only” experimental ticket fares are introduced in addition to existing tariff structure. Nothing changes for passengers of all UIA flights who choose to carry their standard baggage allowance.
