The State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine has submitted a package of documents to the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) nominating five Ukrainian villages for the “Best Tourism Villages” 2024 list.
The head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine, Maryana Oleskiv, announced that with the unanimous approval of the commission members, the following Ukrainian locations will represent the country in one of the world’s most prestigious tourism competitions:
- Vorokhta
- Zelenyi Hai
- Kvasy
- Olyka
- Urich
Oleskiv emphasized that inclusion in this global network would provide these Ukrainian villages with mentorship from UN Tourism and potential financial support from international donors, fostering the development of rural tourism.
The list of villages recognized as the best by the secret advisory council will be announced at the end of 2024 on UNWTO’s official channels.
