Ukrzaliznytsia Launches First Children’s Compartment Car on Kharkiv – Yasinia Train

Ukrzaliznytsia has announced the commencement of ticket sales for its first-ever children’s compartment car, set to operate on train No. 15/16 from Kharkiv to Yasinia starting August 8. The company revealed the news today, highlighting a significant step in enhancing travel experiences for families.

This new compartment car is designed specifically for the comfort, safety, and entertainment of young passengers aged 0 to 8 years, as well as their parents. It is equipped with amenities such as baby playpens, changing tables in the restrooms, and more. The car underwent modernization work for about six months, a project initiated by Ukrzaliznytsia in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and financially supported by the Belgian government.

According to Evgeny Lyashchenko, Chairman of the Board of Ukrzaliznytsia, the company plans to launch an additional seven such cars by the end of the year.

Tickets for the children’s compartment car are available exclusively through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile app. The ticket prices are equivalent to those for standard compartment class tickets on the same train. In the app, the car is marked as “children’s” to help parents traveling with young children select this option.

The company also reminded passengers that children under 5 years old travel for free and do not require a separate ticket on Ukrzaliznytsia trains.
