Ukrzaliznytsia Launches New International Route from Prague to Chop

Ukrzaliznytsia, the Ukrainian Railways company, is launching a new international route from Prague to Chop. As announced by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, the inaugural journey will depart from Prague on March 27th.

“The international route is being launched in cooperation with the Czech company RegioJet. It will connect the capital of the Czech Republic with the Ukrainian border town of Chop, which serves as an important railway hub connecting Ukraine and the EU. To facilitate easier access to Chop for residents of neighboring regions, Ukrzaliznytsia will provide connecting routes and assign a special connecting train No. 345/346 Chernivtsi – Chop – Uzhgorod,” the ministry stated.

It is noted that the overnight train Prague – Chop will depart from Prague at 21:52, from Kosice – Slovakia – at 06:38 in the morning, and will arrive in Chop at 10:35. In the return direction, departures from Chop will be at 17:35, from Kosice at 21:37, and arrival in Prague at 05:46 the next day.

The train will feature both seating cars and sleeping compartments. The ticket prices depend on the travel date and average around 1060 UAH for a seat and 1700 UAH for a sleeping berth. Tickets can be purchased on the carrier’s website.
