Ukrzaliznytsia and the Club 4 Paws animal feed brand provided 11 railway stations in Ukraine with convenient drinking water dispensers for animals traveling by train.
The large-scale evacuation of passengers and their animals from the very beginning of the full-scale invasion showed how important their pets are to Ukrainians. 112,000 animals — from familiar cats and dogs to exotic domestic foxes, raccoons, iguanas, boas and crocodiles — were transported to safety by Ukrzaliznytsia trains.
Ukrainians are returning home — and with them their pets, so Ukrzaliznytsia is already making the railway as animal-friendly as possible: we simplify ticketing for pets through the application, we take them on board the children’s railway for free, and from now on we also install them at stations in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, Odesa, Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia, Vinnytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Poltava (Poltava-Kyivska) and Uzhhorod drinking fountains with large tanks for drinking water. The design of the drinking bowl provides for the presence of a faucet valve, with the help of which any visitor to the station can add water to the bowls if necessary.
Ukrzaliznytsia received 30,000 “comfort kits”, which include a blanket, earplugs and a sleep mask, from the Norwegian railway company VY.
