The UNESCO Heritage in Emergency Fund has approved a $1.5 million assistance project to the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy for the development of digitalization tools in the field of Ukraine’s cultural heritage.
These agreements were reached through fruitful cooperation between UNESCO and the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine. In the first stage until July 2023, UNESCO will provide 40% of the necessary technical equipment and software for the development of server infrastructure, as well as international consultants who will support all processes and assist in the development of a strategy for integrating the digital aspect of culture into the European space.
The World Heritage Committee on Wednesday decided to inscribe the Historic Centre of Odesa (Ukraine) on the World Heritage List. This decision recognizes the outstanding universal value of the site and the duty of all humanity to protect it.
