Wizz Air is cutting its hand luggage allowance just in time for the summer rush, meaning travellers will have to pay to take larger bags into the cabin with them for the flight. Passengers will be permitted to take only a small bag into the cabin, which must fit under the seat in front of them unless they pay extra to put a larger piece of luggage in the overhead locker.
Passengers who had paid for Wizz Priority – which allows you to board before other passengers and costs €5 to €12 when purchased online – able to take a second bag of up to 40cm x 30cm x 18cm into the cabin. Those who opt to pay for the privileges at the airport will be charged €25. Passengers without Wizz Priority can take one bag no larger than 40cm x 30cm x 18cm into the cabin with them.
Previously all passengers were allowed to take one piece of hand luggage weighing up to 10kg and measuring no more than 55cm x 40cm x 23cm into the cabin.
