Airline Wizz Air announced yet again that they will expand the route selection of Turku Airport. The new route from Turku to Poland’s capital city Warsaw will begin in the summer of 2020.
The route is to be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays. The inaugural flight is celebrated on 3 June 2020. The tickets are already for sale.
“The Warsaw route is a welcome addition to the expanding route selection of Turku. The new route openings will diversify the destination selections so that people living in western Finland can easily travel directly from Turku”, says Juha Aaltonen, the manager of Turku Airport.
“We are excited by the Wizz Air’s announcement that they will operate flights between Turku and Warsaw. The wide route selection will bring Turku and the rest of the world closer each other. Warsaw will surely attract interest in both holiday and business-oriented travellers”, says Antti Kirkkola, the liaison manager of City of Turku.
Wizz Air has made several route openings from Turku during the past year. Poland’s Krakow, Kaunas in Lithuania, London and Skopje in North-Macedonia are new destinations that one can currently fly to. The airline has also announced that it will begin operating a route from Turku to Kutaisi, Georgia in July 2020.
Warsaw is a city of almost two million people located in the central parts of Poland by the Vistula-river. The city offers diverse restaurant and shopping opportunities. The re-built Warsaw Old Town is a popular attraction that is also one of the World Heritage Sites of UNESCO.
